GEHC.page — Youth Portal, GMIM Eben Haezer Cikarang
An internal church youth ministry portal — the "Beyonders" mentoring system with a regeneration engine, Google SSO, and 8-level RBAC.
The youth portal of GMIM Eben Haezer Cikarang is not a technology project looking for a problem. It is a ministry that demanded a system: ten discipleship groups, leaders who change with every generation, and administration that must not come at the expense of relationships.
Why it was built: Because leadership regeneration is the heartbeat of ministry. If that process lives only in one or two people's heads, it is fragile. We moved it into a system that can be inherited.
The portal runs on Google SSO with an eight-level access hierarchy, so each role sees only what it needs. Media and materials sync to Google Drive, while a regeneration engine helps map how new groups grow out of existing ones.
Context
The youth ministry at GMIM Eben Haezer Cikarang grew into 10 "Beyonders" discipleship groups, but leadership regeneration and administration were still scattered and manual.
Tension
How to keep mentoring consistent and regenerable across generations, without burdening leaders with manual administration — and without compromising the confidentiality of church members' data.
Process
Built an internal portal with React + Vite (frontend), Express (API), Prisma + TiDB, Google SSO, 8-level RBAC, Google-Drive-synced media, and a "Jethro Engine" for group regeneration.
Outcome
A single digital home for discipleship — group data, attendance, and the regeneration process are now organised and traceable.
Lesson
Good systems are born from a need to serve, not from a desire to adopt new technology.
Impact
Youth ministry runs more consistently; technology becomes a tool for service, not an end in itself.
Next
Add formation modules, make onboarding new leaders easier, and carefully steward data security.
